WHY THIS GAME EXISTS

Folded was created in response to a simple question:

What would a game look like if it were designed for curiosity instead of urgency?

Many games emphasize speed, domination, or optimization. Folded takes a different approach—offering a space where meaning emerges through exploration rather than instruction.

This project is not about telling players what to feel or how to play. It’s about creating room for interpretation, pace, and presence inside an interactive world.

Madina Papel is a hand-crafted paper universe rendered in black and white, where color represents change, connection, and transformation.

The world is built to feel tactile and responsive. Paper behaves like paper—fragile, expressive, and capable of becoming something new.

Characters within the world guide, challenge, and reflect different ways of interacting with the environment.

CURRENT STATUS

A playable mini-experience, Folded: Inner Journey, has already been developed to demonstrate the game’s tone, mechanics, and world.

This demo will be available to early supporters during the crowdfunding phase, and player feedback will directly inform ongoing development.

Folded is being developed by a Gen Z–led team of artists, designers, engineers, and storytellers.

We grew up inside digital systems that reward speed, visibility, and optimization—and we wanted to build something that felt different.

Our approach to Folded reflects that perspective: intentional design, respect for player agency, and transparency in how technology is used.
